Tanmiah Partners with PHYLA and RECYCLEE to Bolster Circular Economy and Food Security RIYADH, Saudi Arabia

Tanmiah Food Company (TADAWUL: 2281), one of the Kingdom’s leading vertically integrated poultry and food producers, announced today that it has signed two strategic Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with SEQUENCIVE sustainability portfolio firms PHYLA and RECYCLEE at IFAT Saudi Arabia, the country’s premier waste management and environmental technology event.

The agreements are part of Tanmiah’s expanding “waste-to-value” roadmap, aiming to advance waste management digitization and alternative protein research and development (R&D) to support Saudi Arabia’s national food security goals.

Under the first MoU, Tanmiah and PHYLA will collaborate on R&D focused on alternative proteins, including using Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae to locally convert organic waste into high-quality, sustainable animal feed. This initiative is expected to reduce reliance on imported feed ingredients and mitigate exposure to global supply chain disruptions.

The partnership builds on Tanmiah’s existing sustainability efforts, including research into BSF larvae and its ongoing Moringa programs, positioning the company as a leading R&D driver of alternative protein solutions aligned with the Saudi Green Initiative and the national target of achieving 90% poultry self-sufficiency by 2030.

The second MoU with RECYCLEE focuses on the digital transformation of Tanmiah’s waste management systems, deploying an advanced tracking platform that will enable the company to monitor, manage and monetize industrial byproducts. This digital approach is designed to open new revenue streams from waste while enhancing transparency and compliance with national environmental standards.

Tanmiah CEO Zulfiqar Hamadani emphasized the company’s broader sustainability strategy: “Our commitment to sustainability goes beyond reducing impact; it is focused on creating a resilient, innovative food system for the future. Through our partnerships with RECYCLEE and PHYLA, we are leveraging technology and biological innovation to improve resource efficiency, strengthen food security, and support national priorities with practical, scalable solutions.”

Mohammed AlMadhi, CEO of SEQUENCIVE, added that the agreements reflect shared goals to contribute to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, enhancing the circular economy, food security and environmental impact in the Kingdom.
