Gomso 1,000-Year Jotgal Introduces Kkini-Kkini K-Umami Sticks to Global Markets
Gomso 1,000‑Year Jotgal has launched Kkini-Kkini K-Umami Sticks, a new line of single-serve fermented seafood products designed to bring traditional Korean umami flavors to international consumers.
The new product range presents Jeotgal in a modern, convenient stick format, offering 40-gram portions suitable for everyday meals. The lineup includes five varieties made with squid, octopus, pollock roe, pollock tripe, and a nut-infused option, positioning the product as a natural umami enhancer for a wide range of cuisines.
Produced using third-generation family fermentation methods and mineral-rich sea salt, Kkini-Kkini products aim to deliver deep flavor while reducing the excessive saltiness traditionally associated with Jeotgal. The company describes the range as part of its broader effort to modernize Korea’s fermented food heritage.
Manufacturing takes place at ISO 22000 and HACCP-certified facilities, supporting the brand’s export-focused growth strategy. Gomso 1,000-Year Jotgal plans to target global retail, foodservice, and specialty food markets as interest in Korean cuisine and fermented foods continues to rise worldwide.
The company stated that Kkini-Kkini is designed to be used as a seasoning, side dish, or cooking ingredient, aligning with growing demand for functional, flavor-forward foods with cultural authenticity.
