Mars Completes Acquisition of Kellanova
Mars Snacking expands global portfolio with Pringles, Cheez-It and Kellogg’s brands
Mars, Incorporated has completed its acquisition of Kellanova, bringing together two major global food companies and significantly expanding Mars’ presence in the global snacking market.
With the transaction finalized, Kellanova’s portfolio — including brands such as Pringles®, Cheez-It®, Pop-Tarts®, Rice Krispies Treats®, RXBAR® and Kellogg’s international cereal brands — is now part of Mars Snacking. The combination strengthens Mars’ position across multiple snacking categories and broadens its reach to consumers worldwide.
Andrew Clarke, Global President of Mars Snacking, said the acquisition represents a milestone for the company, combining decades of brand-building expertise and innovation. He noted that the expanded business will focus on long-term growth, sustainability initiatives and delivering new product innovations to consumers.
The integration adds several billion-dollar brands to Mars’ existing snacking and confectionery portfolio, which includes SNICKERS®, M&M’S®, TWIX®, DOVE®, SKITTLES®, EXTRA®, KIND® and Nature’s Bakery®. Kellanova’s brands will also support the growth of Mars Snacking’s Accelerator division, particularly in the nutrition and bar segments.
Mars first announced the definitive agreement to acquire Kellanova on August 14, 2024. The deal was approved by Kellanova shareholders on November 1, 2024, and received all required regulatory approvals by December 8, 2025, officially completing the transaction.
